Course Overview

This is a two day course specifically aimed at existing Scrum Masters with at least six months experience to support them in their professional development. Unlike the PSM course, this course assumes working knowledge of Scrum and focuses on facilitation techniques, developing a deeper understanding of what is required to be effective with Scrum and various stances a Scrum Master can take when coaching their team/s. This course includes 2 days training and up to two attempts at the PSM II Assessment for a *discounted* Early Bird price of £795 + VAT.

Who is this course aimed at?

Scrum Masters with at least six months experience serving a team.

What are the prerequisites for attending the course?

Experience of the Scrum Master role is a prerequisite as the course is very much student-led with students swapping their thoughts, insight and opinions from their experience as a Scrum Master.

How many people will be in the training?

At least 4 and usually no more than around 8 people to ensure maximum engagement for everyone who attends.

What time does the training run from and until?

Nine until half past five both days with breaks for coffee and an hour for lunch.

What does the course cover?

  • What makes an effective Scrum Master
  • How the Scrum Master supports the Scrum Team
  • How the Scrum Master supports the organisation
  • How to effectively communicate with leadership teams and management
  • Dealing with complexity and impediments
  • Measurement in Scrum and the effective use of metrics
  • Successful product delivery with Scrum
  • Facilitation techniques and which events they might be best suited to

How do I obtain the PSM II (Professional Scrum Master) Certification?

The course includes up to two free attempts at the PSM II on-line Assessment. You can take this in your own time. All you need is a computer with an internet connection and a web browser and the assessment password, which is supplied by Scrum.org after you have completed the course. It is an "open book" exam meaning you can have the Scrum Guide open and Google available but you need to answer 30 multiple choice questions in 90 minutes and the pass mark is 85%.

Students that attempt the assessment within 14 days but do not pass will be given a 2nd attempt at no additional cost.
